What should we wear to the shoot?
Boys - Jeans, shorts, overalls, either with plain t shirt or nothing on top,
Girls - Plain fabric outfit, preferably not white.
Babies - A little pair of pants to cover nappies and nothing on top.
Adults - Wear plain, dark, preferably black clothing so as all focus is on faces .
Women – V or scoop neck tops preferably darker clothing, ideally black.
Men - Plain dark shirt and pants, preferably black

How long will the shoot take?
Depending on the children, allow approximately 45 mins to an hour

Do you shoot in the studio or outdoors?

We offer either service to our clients. Generally with newborns and babies up to 12 months we would suggest the session be in the studio, where the conditions are warm and comfortable and controlled. Older children appreciate the freedom of running around outdoors in a park close to the studio.

What happens if it rains on the day of an out-door shoot?

If we feel the conditions are unpractical for shooting, we call you ASAP in the morning of the shoot to postpone to another day.

  What makeup should I wear?

For a Studio Shoot, the make up is basically an evening make up with under eye cover up, and bring translucent powder and lipstick for touch ups.

Do we get to keep the proofs?

We don’t use proofs. We show you your images on a large computer screen to allow easy viewing and scrutiny of expressions.

How do we choose the photographs?

About a week after the shoot, we call to book in a time for you to come in to the studio to view and purchase the images you would like to take home. Allow 2 hours for this ‘Purchasing Session’, as there will be lots of images for you to look at and make decisions about.

Based on experience, it is essential to organize a baby sitter for the ‘Purchasing Session’. As you can imagine, children get bored very quickly making it difficult for parents to concentrate.
We strongly suggest you come with your partner or friend to this session as it can be quite a job making the decisions

Do you shoot color or black & white?

Most of the artwork we produce for our clients is in black and white or sepia (the old fashioned brown tinge color) Occasionally however, clients do request we shoot in color.

What if I can’t make it on the day of the shoot or my child is sick?

If for what ever reason you can’t make it, we ask that you call the studio AS SOON AS POSSIBLE on the day of the shoot, we could then reschedule another date and time.

What if my child scratches or marks his face on the morning of the shoot?

Small marks and scratches can be removed in the digital preparation for printing. Most retouching of this nature is included in the price of the image but more extensive retouching work may incur an additional charge. Please ask our consultant if the need arises during the ‘Purchasing Session’.

Should we bring food to the shoot?

Bring food to the shoot as a last resort only. We never use food as a prop or produce it at the beginning, as a baby may drool or older children may hold the food to their mouths for a good part of the shoot. We have a quiet environment in the studio for breast feeding mums and can provide hot water for bottles etc.

My children are hyper-active, do you think we will get some good photos?

The beauty of shooting out-doors, especially with boys, is that children can feel more free to express themselves, by running around and exploring the park.

The emphasis is taken off the photographer and placed more on the children enjoying themselves. Remember, we are trying to capture their personalities; we really encourage the kids to be themselves.

How long will it take before our photographs will be ready?
After the Purchasing Session at the studio, your images will be ready for collection within 4 weeks.

Are we required to pay anything up front?

The shoot fee is required before the day of the shoot. Any purchases of imagery requires a 50% deposit at the time of your order and the balance is due when you collect your photographs in four weeks time.

  Do you have lay-by?

YES. You can spread the cost of your images over a negotiated time frame (normally 3 to 6 months), which is debited from your account fortnightly. The photographs remain at the studio until the payments have been fully paid. It is possible however, that if your financial situation changes, you may pay the balance owing at any time and collect the images immediately. PLEASE NOTE: TO INITIATE THIS LAYBY SYSTEM, A 50% DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED UP FRONT AT THE PURCHASING SESSION.

Do you accept credit card or cheque?

We accept Credit Cards (Visa and Mastercard only) and personal or bank cheques.
EFTPOS facilities are also available.

Can I buy my friend a Gift Voucher?
No. Unfortunately we no longer offer a gift voucher service.
